The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association has released its seventh set of polls for the 2008 volleyball season, and there’s a new No. 1 in Class 4A.
Perennial big-school power Muncie Central has assumed that position from its previous perch at second after last week’s leader, Elkhart Memorial, fell to fourth. Also moving up one slot in the 4A rankings are Avon (second), Indianapolis Cathedral (third), and Avon (third).
Meanwhile, a pair of schools – Wapahani and Indianapolis Lutheran – move from the unranked into the No. 7 spot in 2A and 1A, respectively. The other prior No. 1 teams – Fort Wayne Dwenger (3A), Muncie Burris (2A), and 1A Marquette Catholic – all remain unchanged.
