BSoc RANKINGS: Westfield, Carmel creep up in boys coaches’ poll

The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association has released its seventh boys soccer poll of the 2008 season, and there’s considerable – though minor – movement among the Top 10 as we head into October.

Westfield leads the charge, going from fourth to third. The Shamrocks are joined by Hamilton County rival Carmel, which rises from sixth to fourth following a 1-1 tie at home with top-ranked Evansville Memorial. Finally, Columbus North (seventh to fifth) and North Central (Indianapolis) (10th to seventh) also are on the move upward.

Evansville Memorial stays No. 1 following its foray north, with Homestead holding down second. None of the other schools in the Top 20 moved up more than two spots.

Teams are listed by current ranking followed by school name and record. The ISCA boys soccer poll from Sept. 29:

1. Evansville Memorial 11-0-2
2. Homestead 12-0-2
3. Westfield 11-1
4. Carmel 7-1-3
5. Columbus North 10-2-1
6. Zionsville 12-3
7. North Central (Indianapolis) 9-4-1
8. Castle 8-3-3
