To come: Video feature on Caston runner with cerebral palsy

Coming in late September, we at HoosierAuthority will bring you the
inspirational story of Caston’s Brittany Scales. Scales, a sophomore on
the Comets’ cross country team, has cerebral palsy. The condition
affects her vision, and she uses a guide runner to help her through
each race.

Having run cross country, I can attest to how rugged the terrain on
some of the courses can be. I also can’t imagine trying to compete on
them without adequate vision. Well, Brittany does compete on them, and
we intend to chronicle her amazing story with a video feature next
month.

Click here for a preview clip of Brittany and her guide runner, Kate Daily, competing during the McCutcheon Stampede on Aug. 26.

(NOTE: To watch the video, you may need QuickTime 7.1. For a free download, click here.)
