HUNTINGBURG â??? Gas money for the trip to Southridge for the â??Rumble at the â??ridgeâ?? An arm and a leg.

Submarine sammich for Wagon Man Josh Ember on the way down to
Southridge? Twenty dollars. (Hey, the boy can eat with the best of
them.)

Food at SADD tailgate party? Free.

Getting the chance to visit small-town Indiana with all the people who are crazy for high school football? Priceless.

Thatâ??s right, while the fans for Southridge may have been
disappointed in the outcome Sept. 29, there is no arguing that this was
one of the better stops on the Hoosier Authority Fan Wagon Tour. The
fans came out in full force to the tune of a standing-room-only crowd
on a chilly night in Huntingburg.

From the pee-wee coaches screaming their heads off even though their
team was struggling to the student section to the rest of the crows,
Raiders Field was loud from start to finish.

Upon
arrival, we were invited to the SADD (Students Against Drunk Drivers)
tailgate party. The crazies from Southridge do it up right as they
prepare for each of the Raidersâ?? home games. Our very own Josh took
home one of the prizes from the SADD bash.

From there, it was off to our area inside the stadium in about as
good of a spot as we could have asked for. Fans swarmed the stadium and
stopped by to say hello along the way.

We could have asked for better weather (although the rain never
really did come down that hard), but the game was an example of
everything thatâ??s right with high school sports. Two teams playing
hard, an SRO crowd, and two rural communities supporting their team to
the fullest.

All that, plus us being welcomed with open arms, made this a
wonderful stop. The biggest news of the night? We finally found someone
big enough to take Joshâ??s customized Hoosier Authority T-shirt off his
back. Thatâ??s right, the 4XL custom shirt is now in the hands of a lucky
fan that was more than happy to walk away with a shirt commemorating
the â??Rumble at the Ridge.â?

Thatâ??s all for this week. Next Friday we are back in Central Indiana
â??? weâ??ll be at Plainfield for the â??Battle for the Mid-Stateâ? between 7-0
Mooresville and 7-0 Plainfield.
