is now under way for Bret Neylonâ??s 2nd Annual Race to Recovery 5K Run &
Walk, a fundraiser for the Brownsburg cross country and track & field coach
to be held July 28 at Brownsburg
High School.
This
running and walking event is provided by â??Friends of Bret Neylonâ? in an effort
to raise funding for his spinal cord rehabilitation. A friend to many in the Brownsburg
community, Neylon was involved in a serious bicycle accident in June 2006,
sustaining a C4 vertebrae fracture in his neck during the sprint finish at the
Summer Solstice Race in Ohio.
Neylon
has made great strides in his recovery, but he will require extensive rehabilitation.
The
top three males and top three females in the overall and masters divisions will
receive awards, as well as the top finisher in each age group: 15 & under,
16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
You
can pre-register online for $20 before July 24 at www.racetorecovery.org. Day-of
event registration will take place at the Brownsburg Fieldhouse entrance, with
parking available in the schoolâ??s west lot.

Registration
& Packet Pick-Up: 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Opening
Ceremony: 8:40 a.m.
Start
of 5K Run: 9 a.m.
Start
of 5K Walk: 9:05 a.m.
Awards
Ceremony: 10 a.m.
