#21 Warren Central narrowly defeats field in classic Marion County battle

Everyone knew that the boys Marion County title was up for grabs, but few would have predicted that it would have been this close.

In a battle that came down the the final stretch of the race, it was the two-time defending state champions that were victorious once the final tallies were added.

The Warriors finished with 92 points, just one better than #17 Franklin Central, and two better than #18 Ben Davis.

Franklin Central’s Scott Lasiter showed that he has returned to form following last week’s scary incident in northeast Indiana where he was forced to drop out of the race after stepping on a golf tee.

His time of 15:55 was six seconds better than that of runner-up Andy Wilson of Ben Davis.

Warren Central’s Caleb Pack used a massive final kilometer to take home third over Lance Nelson of Southport, a move that would ultimately give county honors to his team.
