The Zionsville girls tennis team obviously had a very good year on the courts as the Eagles advanced to the state finals this spring. They also had a very good season off the courts.
The team’s efforts on behalf of the Vera Bradley Foundation, a charity looking to cure ****** cancer, were widely publicized during the tennis campaign.
On July 13, the Zionsville girls received perhaps their most coveted reward for both of their successes. They were voted “Team of the Year” at the St. Vincent Spirit of Sport Awards. The honor to coach Pat Slama and her charges was bestowed for both their on-the-court success and the off-court humanitarian work.
Hoosier Authority had an opportunity to sit down with coach Slama before the awards banquet to talk about her team’s efforts – click here for that interview!
