The Indiana High School Swim Coaches’ Association has released its eighth poll for the 2008-09 girls swimming season, and the news is that there really is no news.
The first 15 schools do not budge in the rankings this time around, and elsewhere there is ever-so-slight movement among the schools – so much so that this may well indeed be the least noteworthy set of rankings in the history of girls swimming bwa-HA!
Carmel, Hamilton Southeastern, and Center Grove continue to pace the field at Nos. 1-3, with North Central (Indianapolis) and Homestead still rounding out the first five.
The rankings are based on a theoretical scoring system from a 16-place meet using the times/scores of the returning Top 20 individuals from sectionals and state finals as well as the best regular-season times of the 2007-08 season.
Teams are listed by ranking followed by school and vote total. The IHSSCA’s Top 52 from Dec. 28:
1. Carmel 340
2. Hamilton Southeastern 255
