The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches has released its sixth poll for the 2009 boys track & field season, and betcha by golly wow is there some big moves goin’ on.
Foremost among that maneuvering is the ascension of a pair of Marion County schools. North Central (Indianapolis) rises from 11th to fourth, while Pike bumps up from 14th to sixth. Then there’s Fort Wayne Northrop, which dropped from second to 21st last week but bounces back to the ninth spot this time around.
Elsewhere, Warren Central swaps spots with Carmel as the Warriors move from third to second behind leader Ben Davis, with Lawrence Central rounding out the first five at fifth. Schools new to this week’s poll are Elkhart Central (13th), Castle (18th), Chesterton (21st), and Brebeuf (23rd), with the foursome of Noblesville (previously ninth), Westfield (was 17th), Crown Point (formerly 18th), and Lawrence North (20th last time) dropping out of the rankings.
