INDIANAPOLIS – With its undefeated season perilously in the balance midway through a surprisingly high-scoring affair May 29 at Class 4A No. 11 host Lawrence North, second-ranked Indianapolis Cathedral showed why the Fighting Irish are on pace to reach their third state finals in four years.
Trailing 5-2 and with LN runners on second and third base following a double steal with two outs in the top of the fourth inning (the green-clad Wildcats were the visitor despite playing at home), left-handed Irish sophomore ace Dillon Peters struck out Wildcat senior right fielder Clint Seefeldt. Cathedral then used that baby step of momentum to turn the game around in the bottom of the frame.
