The Indiana High School Swim Coaches’ Association has released its third poll for the 2009-10 girls swimming season, and this week find a trio of big movers in Westfield, Mount Vernon (Posey), and Lawrence North.
Westfield moves from 11th to fifth, with Mount Vernon rising 15 spots from 21st to sixth and LN ascending 10 places from 17th to seventh. Elsewhere, Chesterton swaps spots with Noblesville in moving from fourth to third behind holdover Nos. 1-2 Carmel and Hamilton Southeastern, while Columbus North 12th goes from to eighth.
Meanwhile, Center Grove drops from fourth to ninth, while Fishers falls from sixth to 10th.
Rankings are based on a theoretical scoring system from a 16-place meet using the times/scores of the returning Top 20 individuals from sectionals and state finals as well as the best regular-season times of the 2009-10 season, plus relays.
