BSw RANKINGS: Carmel noses past Munster as new No. 1

The Indiana High School Swim Coaches’ Association has released its fourth poll for the 2009-10 boys swimming season, and the news this week is the surge of Carmel from third to knock previous leader Munster from the top of the heap.
The Greyhounds total 228 points in this week’s poll, one point more than Munster. Chesterton drops from second to third, with the next five schools (Hamilton Southeastern, Castle, Northridge, Bloomington South, and Homestead) remaining unchanged. Finally, Fishers swaps spots with Noblesville in going from 10th to ninth.
Rankings are based on a theoretical scoring system from a 16-place meet using the times/scores of the returning Top 18 individuals from sectionals and state finals as well as the best regular-season times of the 2009-10 season.
Teams are listed by ranking followed by school and vote total. The IHSSCA’s Top 20 from Dec. 28:
