The Associated Press released its fifth set of polls for the 2009-10 boys basketball season last week, and we plumb forgotted to post ‘em! So, we’re gonna give you the polls that got left by the wayside a week ago plus this week’s updated goodies. Enjoy!
Last week, Bluffton was the new leader in Class 2A as the Tigers switched with Fort Wayne Luers in going from second to first. The other No. 1s – 4A Bloomington South, 3A Princeton, and 1A Bowman Academy – remained unchanged. But there was a lot of little movements going on inside each class a week ago:
4A: New Albany went from third to second, Zionsville rose from fifth to third, Valparaiso jumped from 10th to fifth, Pike pushed up two spots from eighth to sixth, Munster moved up two as well going from ninth to seventh, and Carmel rocketed up all the way from 20th to 10th after upsetting previous No. 2/now No. 4 North Central (Indianapolis).
3A: Gary Wallace ascended from seventh to fourth, Mt. Vernon (Fortville) inched up from sixth to fifth, Batesville did the same in going from eighth to seventh, Peru moved up from 10th to eighth, and Greensburg rose from 12th to ninth.
2A: Wheeler went from seventh to fifth, while Taylor bounded up from 15th to 10th.
1A: Barr-Reeve swapped spots with Monroe Central in moving from fourth to third, Orleans went from eighth to sixth, and Morgan Township moved from 12th to eighth
Now, onto this week!

In 3A: Washington, Danville, and Gary Wallace all move up one to first, second, and third as two-loss Princeton falls clear to sixth. Elsewhere, Greensburg goes all the way from ninth to fourth, Peru rises from eighth to fifth, Southridge ascends from 10th to eighth, and Harding goes from 11th to ninth.
