T&F/XC Hall of Fame: Eleven to be inducted Jan. 27

The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (IATCCC) will induct its newest class of Hall of Fame members Jan. 27 as three coaches and eight athletes will be honored at the Sheraton Hotel (Keystone at The Crossing) in Indianapolis.
The honorees and their honors are as follows:
Bruce Blomberg, North Central (Indianapolis)
Coached North Central to the IHSAA state championship in 1992. His teams won four sectionals and two regionals. He had three individual state champions and 1 relay state champ. He had someone place in every event possible at the state meet. Also as girls sprint coach, he had three IHSAA state championship relay teams and coached 11 individual state champs.
Rob Johnson, Wabash College
Assistant coach for the USA Olympic Team in 2000. He spent 37 seasons as Wabash cross country coach and was the 1995 NCAA Division III Coach of the Year. He was inducted into the Wabash College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994. He was also a sprint and relay coach for the USA at the 1993 World University Games and head track coach for the 1983 Olympic Sports Festival. Rob has been a nationwide clinician for sprints and relays.
James Johnston Jr., Hobart
Was IHSAA state pole vault champion in 1954. While at Purdue, he was the Big 10 indoor pole vault champion in 1957 and 1959 and the NCAA champion in 1958 and runner-up in 1959. James coached six IHSAA state champions, including four pole vaulters.
Morgan Uceny, Plymouth
The 2002 IHSAA champion in the 800 meters (2:13.04). Four-time All-American while at Cornell. Is the 1,500-meter record holder for an Indiana high school grad (4:06.93). Has a personal best in the 800 of 2:00.1. Placed fourth at the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 1,500 and sixth in the 800. She was a member of the USA Track & Field team at the 2007 Pan American Games (800).
Christina Poulson, Delta
Three-time IHSAA champion in the 100-meter dash (2001, 2002, and 2003). She was third in 2000. Her winning times were :11.93 in 2001, :11.90 in 2002, and :11.75 in 2003.
Andrea Kremer, Indianapolis Chatard
IHSAA runner-up in the 3,200 (2000). At Miami of Ohio became the American junior record holder in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She was also a three-time All-American and four-time MAC champion. Andrea has qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials in the marathon with a 2:41.28 last fall.
Jessica Gall, West Lafayette
IHSAA champion in cross country (2001) and the 3,200 (2002). Jessica was also the Mental Attitude Award winner for cross country in 2001. Went on to become a three-time All-American while at Indiana University, where she has the second-fastest time in school history in the 5,000 both indoors and outdoors. Jessica also qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2008.
David Neville, Merrillville
2008 Olympic gold medalist in the 1,600 relay and a bronze medalist in the 400. The 2002 IHSAA champion in the 400 (:46.99), his personal bests in the 200 (:20.39) and 400 (:44.61) are Indiana all-time bests. While at Indiana University, David was a three-time Big Ten champ in the 400 and a two-time champ in the 200.
Don Young, Gary Roosevelt
A five-time IHSAA champion (100, 200, and three times in the 400 relay) and a three-time state champ in 1983 (100 in :10.63, 200 in :21.17 and 400 relay). Was also on Roosevelt’s 400 relay winning teams in 1981 and 1982.
Leroy Dixon, South Bend LaSalle
The 2001 IHSAA champion in the 100 (:10.43) and 200 (:21.30), Dixon also was a gold medalist in the 2007 World Championships in the 400 relay. While at the University of South Carolina, he had personal bests of :10.02 and :20.58.
Mark Jelks, Gary West
A two-time winner at the 2002 IHSAA meet, winning the 100 in :10.25 (wind-aided) and 200 in :20.88 (wind-aided). He is second in Indiana high school history in the 100 (:10.25) and 200 (:20.19). Mark also ran :21.64 in 2003 and owns the Indiana boys indoor state record.
Other awards being presented at the Hall of Fame banquet include the Meredith Payne Award for official of the year (Mark Beck of Lafayette) as well as coaching longevity awards for the following:
50 years: Jim Eger, Elkhart Memorial, and Bill Welch, Rose-Hulman
40 years: Don Bonsett, Cass
20 years: Chuck Heimberg, Portage
