The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association has released its fourth set of polls for the 2010 Indiana softball season, and it’s a busy week as we find three new No. 1s in the respective rankings.
Penn (Class 4A), Boonville (3A), and 1A Indianapolis Lutheran are all new leaders this week in their respective polls, taking over the top spot from Castle, New Palestine, and Riverton Parke, respectively. But there’s lots going on elsewhere …
4A: Ben Davis rises from fifth to third after capturing its own eight-team invitational this past weekend, Terre Haute South jumps from 13th to eighth, Mishawaka goes from 15th to ninth, and Anderson Highland bumps up from 14th to 10th.
3A: Corydon moves from fourth to third and Princeton goes from fifth to fourth.
2A: South Putnam inches up from fourth to third, Delphi does the same in going from fifth to fourth, Tipton ascends from 11th to seventh, and Union County climbs from 13th to eighth.
1A: Lakewood Park Christian noses up from fourth to third, Clay City leaps from ninth to fifth, Cowan rises from 11th to seventh, and South Central (Union Mills) goes from 14th to eighth.
Teams are listed by rank followed by school and first-place votes (if applicable), rating points, and last year’s record. Your ICGSA Top 60 from April 26:
